A Development of a Bilingual Application to Enhance Memorization of the First 20 Chemical Elements

Abstract

This research aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a bilingual application to enhance memorization of the first 20 chemical elements in the periodic table, compare the learning achievement in memory before and after using the application, and assess the learners' satisfaction with the application. The samples consisted of 154 students who were about to enter the Merchant Marine Training Centre (Quota Round) in the academic year 2025 by use of purposive sampling. System development tools use Swift and Kotlin to create applications. The research results found that the application can be used on both Android and iOS systems and supports both Thai and English languages. The learning achievement in terms of memory after using the application was higher than before, and the users were highly satisfied overall.
