Abstract

The objectives of the study were 1) to examine level of political participation, 2) to compare level of political participation as classified by personal factors, and 3) to study correlation among political participation factors. This study was s qualitative research. The conceptual framework of the study was applied from concepts of Cohen & Uphoff ; Mc Closky. The population consist of 30,006 women of Ang Sila Municipality Woman’s group. The sample size was determined using Krejci & Morgan Table. The 379 study samples were selected by simple random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with reliability of .95. Statistics used  for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t – test , one – way ANOVA, and Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient. The results revealed that 1) level of political participation of women’s group as a whole were at moderate level. When considering each aspect as organized respectively by mean from high to low showed that three aspects were at moderate level included participation in receiving benefits, participation in decision making, and participation in work operation. One aspect was at low level which was participation in the assessment. 2) The comparison results of political participation as classified by personal factors indicated that women with different educational level show no different. Women with different age and occupation showed different in political participation at statistically significant level of .05. 3) The study results of the relationship among political participation factors indicated that social environment, political psychology and political environment showed relationship with political participation at statistically significance of .01.
