ETHNIC IDENTTY UNDER NEO-LIBERALISM ECONOMY AND PROMOTION OF LEARNING LIFELONG OF TAI DAM COMMUNITY, KHAO YOI DISTRICT, PHETCHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study ethnic identity under the neoliberal concept of Tai Dam people, and 2) to propose guidelines for preserving cultural identity and promoting lifelong learning. It's qualitative research. The target group was 4 families, a total of 23 people. Data were collected by group discussion of 8 people, and in-depth interviews of 15people were chosen by purposive sampling. The tools used were the structured questionnaires. Analyze content-based data and check quality with a triangle technique. The results showed that: 1. study ethnic identity under the neoliberalism of the Tai Dam community. There are three aspects: such as: 1.1) neoliberal economy affects the support and dissemination of economic data sets in the way of weakening cultural identity. In a way of coexistence and in accordance with the trend of national culture, 1.2) neoliberal economy in the way of preserving cultural identity It is characterized by behavioral changes in response to the economy, and 1.3) neoliberal economy in the manner of spreading cultural identity It is more negative than positive, decreasing identity rather than encouraging or restoring.

The results of the study reflect cultural identity, resulting in awareness of culture as a social and cultural capital and applied to create more tourism value. And 2. approaches to preserving cultural identity and promoting lifelong learning. There are 5 areas such as: 2.1) learning and adapting to change, 2.2) raising awareness of existing cultural capital values, 2.3) promoting a constructive economy based on social capital, 2.4) raising awareness of the values and pride of cultural capital of communities, and 2.5) promoting ethnic stability. The results reflect the community's participation in recognizing their own traditional cultural values. And the youth have become more interested in community culture. Therefore, cultural identity should be maintained when the economic identity in professional form needs to be consistent with culture
