BUDDHIST TOURISM : DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM MANAGEMENT MODEL OF TEMPLES IN THE SOUTH THAT INFLUENCED BY BUDDHIST ART PHRA BOROMMATHAT CHEDI NAKHON SI THAMMARAT

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) To study the current status of Buddhist tourism management in the South, 2) to develop the management model and activities of Buddhist tourism of temples in the South that have been influenced by the Buddhist art of Phra Borommathat Chedi Nakhon Si Thammarat, and 3) to strengthen the network of Buddhist tourism management of temples in the South that have been influenced by the Buddhist art of Phra Borommathat Chedi Nakhon Si Thammarat. It is a qualitative research focusing on document study and in-depth interviews. The research results are presented in a descriptive manner. The results of the study found that: Current status of Buddhist tourism management model in the South. Buddhist tourism management models in the South include nature and sea, culture and religion, health and community, food, history, sports and adventure, and faith and pilgrimage. The Development of Models and Activities for Buddhist Tourism Management of Southern Thailand Temples Influenced by Buddhist Art of Phra Borommathat Chedi Nakhon Si Thammarat, including: Directions for developing tourism management models, the importance of organizing Buddhist tourism management activities for temples in Southern Thailand, the significance of Buddhist art in temples that are Buddhist tourism destinations in Southern Thailand, and the Buddhist art of temples influenced by Phra Borommathat Chedi Nakhon Si Thammarat that impacts society. Strengthening the Network of Buddhist Tourism Management of Southern Thailand Temples Influenced by Buddhist Art of Phra Borommathat Chedi Nakhon Si Thammarat, including: Understanding the network of Buddhist tourism management of temples in Southern Thailand, the necessity of strengthening the network of Buddhist tourism management of temples in Southern Thailand, and strengthening the network of Buddhist tourism management of Southern Thailand temples influenced by Buddhist art of Phra Borommathat Chedi Nakhon Si Thammarat that affects tourism.
