This article aims to: 1) analyze factors affecting the political stability of Field Marshal Por Phibulsongkhram, Prime Minister of Thailand from 1938-1944; and 2) analyze methods of political stabilization of Field Marshal Por Phibunsongkhram. This article describes the factors affecting political stability and the creation of political stability during Field Marshal Por Phibunsongkhram’s premiership during 1938-1944, the post-Siamese revolution, in which the new regime has sufficient stability in the country. However, during this period, international tensions were escalating, causing WW II to begin, and Thailand was eventually forced to engage in the war. Factors related to the political stability of Field Marshal Por Phibunsongkhram consisted of 1) international economic factors; 2) international politics and pressure; and 3) internal conflicts among Kanarat’s key members. Field Marshal Por Phibulsongkhram had established his political stability by promoting himself as a nation builder, centralizing power by using nationalism, implementing, compromising political policies, and suppressing political oppositions. Initially, Pibunsongkram had successfully maintained his political stability; however, it declined in the end due to the loss in warfare during world war II.
