Abstract

General Colin Powell, former US Secretary of State. He is the first black citizen to serve as US National Security Adviser under the government of President Ronald Reagan and the first black to serve as the chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff under the government of President George H.W. Bush. General Powell and has played an important role in leading the US Army entered the Persian Gulf War in 1991-1992 and retired as a 4-star general after 35 years of service in the US Army. General Colin Powell, Former US Secretary of State died at the age of 84 from complications after contracting COVID-19. General Powell's contributions not only made the country peaceful, build strong ties between regions, but he is also a model of leadership. In 2012, he wrote the book 'It Worked For Me: In Life and Leadership', which discusses the 13 Laws of Leadership. This will allow us to understand the characteristics of a good leader and in addition, leaders in organizations. can learn and apply these lessons to their own organizations This article will continue to present the biography, work, and thoughts of the former US Secretary of State.
