ARMS: คุณลักษณะผู้นำทางทหารไทยตามแนวพระพุทธศาสนา

บทความวิชาการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอแนวคิดและพัฒนาโมเดล ARMS ซึ่งเป็นโมเดลต้นแบบใหม่เพื่อพัฒนาคุณลักษณะผู้นำทางทหารไทยตามแนวพระพุทธศาสนา โดยวิเคราะห์จากบริบทรัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย พ.ศ. 2560 มาตรา 67 ซึ่งระบุว่ารัฐต้องอุปถัมภ์และส่งเสริมการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา จึงเห็นว่า กองทัพไทยในฐานะหน่วยงานของรัฐสามารถน้อมนำหลักภาวนา 4 ของพระพุทธศาสนามาใช้เป็นแนวทางในการพัฒนาคุณลักษณะผู้นำทางทหารไทย 15 ประการ ที่มาจากแนวคิดของนาวิกโยธินสหรัฐฯ นำมาประยุกต์ให้เหมาะสมกับบริบทไทย การบูรณาการดังกล่าวนำไปสู่โมเดล ARMS ซึ่งมีองค์ประกอบ 4 ด้าน ได้แก่ A (Action - กายภาวนา) R (Resilience - จิตภาวนา) M (Morality - ศีลภาวนา) และ S (Strategy - ปัญญาภาวนา)
ผลลัพธ์ของการศึกษาในบทความนี้ คือ การนำเสนอโมเดลที่มีความเป็นเอกลักษณ์ไทย และสามารถเป็นแนวทางเชิงนโยบายเพื่อเสริมสร้างผู้นำทหารที่มีคุณธรรม สมรรถนะ และจิตสำนึกแห่งความรับผิดชอบต่อชาติ ศาสนา และพระมหากษัตริย์
