As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or PDF format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is doubled-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

About the journal

Journal of Integrative and Innovative Humanities is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing original research. The journal accepts interdisciplinary articles that are written in English and discuss on any topics of humanities in relation to other areas. The journal accepts proposals for research articles, book reviews and book review essays. Book review essay proposals should discuss at least two books in a comparative manner.

 

General and ethical guidelines

  1. The manuscript together with a cover letter (Download a cover letter template) must be submitted to the Editor’s office via online submission system.
  2. The journal does not have any charges.
  3. The journal does not have a strict word limit but it is recommended that the manuscript be no longer than 7000 words (excluding references).
  4. The manuscript must be in English and must be language-edited before submission.
  5. Authors register with Thai Journals Online (ThaiJo) to submit articles.
  6. All submitted articles are reviewed by at least two reviewers in related fields and are approved by editorial board.
  7. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) License.
  8. The authors must follow accepted principles of ethical and professional conduct, and are sole responsible for any misconduct in their research and their manuscript. The Editor’s Office has the fullest right to retract any manuscripts at any time if misconduct is found.
  9. The submitted manuscript must not be previously published, or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  10. After the manuscript is accepted, alterations are not allowed.
  11. The authors must keep all forms of communication with the Journal or representatives from the Journal confidential unless explicit consent for information sharing has been received.

 

Preparing your paper

Style guidelines

The manuscript must be in A4 size with 1-inch (2.5 cm) margins on all sides. Use Times New Roman font in size 12 with double-line spacing.

 

The title page, page 1, should include the title of the manuscript, authors’ names (without degree) and affiliation. The affiliation should be typed as a footnote to the authors’ names. For the corresponding author, please also include telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address. Please note that after acceptance, any changes of authorship are not allowed.

 

Use American spelling style consistently throughout your manuscript.

 

Use double quotation marks, except where “a quotation is ‘within’ a quotation”. Please note that long quotations should be indented without quotation marks.

 

Use bold for your article title, with an initial capital letter for any proper nouns.

 

First-level headings (e.g. Introduction, Conclusion) should be in bold, with an initial capital letter for any proper nouns.

 

Second-level headings should be in bold italics, with an initial capital letter for any proper nouns.

 

References

The journal uses in-text citation (author-date system) following the most recent Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). Likewise, references must follow the APA manual. Where available, URL’s for the references must be provided.

 

In-text citation

One author: Mitchell (2017) states… Or … (Mitchell, 2017).

Two authors: Mitchell and Smith (2017) state… Or … (Mitchell & Smith, 2017).

Authors with multiple works from one year: (Mitchell, 2017a) Or (Mitchell, 2017b).

Multiple works in one parenthesis: (Mitchell & Smith 2017; Thomson, Coyne, & Davis, 2015).

Article review process

The editorial team notifies the authors when receiving the articles.

 

The co-editors in chief preliminarily assesses whether the received articles are within the scope of the journal. This process also includes the assessment of academic quality and contribution. Authors will be notified whether or not the articles will be sent out for review within 15 days.

 

The editorial team send qualified articles out for review. Each article will be assessed by at least two reviewers in related fields to assess its quality and contribution. The review process is double blind. It takes approximately 20 - 40 days.

 

Based on the reviewers' comments, the co-editors may accept, ask authors for revision, or reject articles. Authors will be informed about the review result within 15 days after the editorial office receives the review from the reviewers.
