A STUDY ON SCHOOL EFFECTIVENESS IN KHUKHAN DISTRICT GROUP UNDER SISAKET PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 3
Main Article Content
Abstract
This mixed methods study aimed to: 1) Examine school effectiveness in Khukhan District under the Sisaket Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, and 2) Explore guidelines for improving school effectiveness in this context. The quantitative sample comprised 273 teachers drawn from a population of 940, with the sample size determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table; participants were selected through stratified random sampling followed by simple random sampling within each school group. Qualitative data were collected from seven key informants who were purposively selected for their experience and roles in educational administration and management. The research instruments consisted of a 68-item five-point rating scale questionnaire, with item discrimination values ranging from 0.39 to 0.92 and a reliability coefficient of .99, together with a semi-structured interview form. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The findings indicated that overall school effectiveness was at a high level in terms of job satisfaction, administration, learning management, and supervision, monitoring, and evaluation. Nevertheless, English O-NET achievement was below the national average in 92 percent of schools, while students’ eagerness to learn was reported at 58.6 percent. Major recommendations included improving English achievement, enhancing teacher welfare, fostering desirable student characteristics, strengthening governance-based administration, designing learning activities that emphasize practical application, and applying supervision, monitoring, and evaluation for continuous improvement. This revised abstract was prepared in response to the reviewers’ comments by explicitly identifying the mixed methods design, clarifying the sampling criteria, and presenting the key findings concisely and consistently
