Abstract

This research aimed to compare the agility of volleyball athletes before the training program, after the 4th week, and after the 8th week of the SAQ (Speed, Agility, and Quickness) training program. This study employed a quasi-experimental research design. The sample consisted of 24 male volleyball players from Kasetsart University Laboratory School Center for Educational Research and Development, aged 15 - 18 years, during the 2025 academic year. The sample size was calculated using Cochran’s formula, yielding 24 participants selected by purposive sampling. The subjects underwent the SAQ training program for 8 weeks, 3 days per week. Agility was assessed using the Illinois Agility Test at three time points: before the training program, after week 4, and after week 8. The research instruments had an Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) ranging from 0.80 to 1.00. Data were analyzed using one-way repeated measures ANOVA, mean, and standard deviation. The results revealed that the mean agility scores were 20.65 seconds (S.D. = 0.83) before training, 19.37 seconds (S.D. = 0.80) after week 4, and 17.74 seconds (S.D. = 1.03) after week 8. Comparisons of mean agility scores across the three time points showed statistically significant differences at the .05 level. These findings indicate that the SAQ training program effectively improved the agility of volleyball athletes at Kasetsart University Laboratory School Center for Educational Research and Development.
