Main Article Content
Abstract
This quasi-experimental research aimed to: 1) compare the academic achievement of undergraduate students in the Educational Tourism Entrepreneurship course after implementing online learning utilizing small group discussions combined with mind mapping against the 80% criterion, and 2) examine student satisfaction toward this online learning approach. The sample consisted of 50 undergraduate students majoring in Non-Formal Education at Thaksin University who were enrolled in the Educational Tourism Entrepreneurship course during the 2025 academic year. The participants were selected through cluster random sampling. The research instruments included: 1) online lesson plans utilizing small group discussions combined with mind mapping, 2) an academic achievement test, and 3) a student satisfaction questionnaire. Data collection was conducted through online learning activities consisting of five instructional units with a total of 45 hours. After the completion of the instructional activities, the students were administered the academic achievement test and the satisfaction questionnaire. Academic achievement data were analyzed using a one-sample t-test, while satisfaction data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The research findings revealed that: 1) the students' academic achievement after participating in the online learning utilizing small group discussions combined with mind mapping yielded a mean score of 86.44 (SD = 0.81), which was significantly higher than the 80% criterion at the .05 level; and 2) the students' satisfaction toward this online learning approach was at a high level (M = 4.32, SD = 0.29). When considered by aspects, satisfaction with online learning management was at the highest level, whereas satisfaction with small group discussions, mind mapping, and assessment and evaluation was at a high level
