ELECTION MANAGEMENT AFFECTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SUB-DISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION ELECTIONS OF THE OFFICE OF THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF PHRA NAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the election management of the Sub-district Administrative Organizations under the Office of the Election Commission of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province; 2) examine the effectiveness of the Sub-district Administrative Organization elections under the Office of the Election Commission of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province; and 3) investigate the election management affecting the effectiveness of the Sub-district Administrative Organization elections under the Office of the Election Commission of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. This study employed a quantitative research methodology. The sample consisted of 342 Sub-district Administrative Organization Election Committee members and Directors of Elections for Sub-district Administrative Organizations within Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, selected through simple random sampling based on Taro Yamane’s formula with an acceptable error margin of .05 at a 95% confidence level. The research instrument was a questionnaire validated by experts, which yielded an Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) index of 0.89. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Least Significant Difference (LSD) test, Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The research findings revealed that the overall level of election management of the Sub-district Administrative Organizations under the Office of the Election Commission of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province was at a high level, and the overall level of effectiveness of the Sub-district Administrative Organization elections under the Office of the Election Commission of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province was also at a high level. Furthermore, the aspects of election management that statistically significantly affected the effectiveness of the Sub-district Administrative Organization elections under the Office of the Election Commission of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province included goal management, process management, and resource management
