Abstract

Amid increasing global economic uncertainty driven by digital technological disruption, economic crises, geopolitical changes, and intensified business competition, organizations are required to strengthen their organizational resilience to sustain competitiveness and achieve long-term sustainability. This academic article aims to synthesize the body of knowledge concerning the causal factors influencing organizational resilience under economic uncertainty, with particular emphasis on the roles of digital leadership, organizational agility, and organizational innovation. An integrative literature review approach was employed by reviewing research articles, academic publications, and scholarly books published between 2010 and 2025. The selected literature was analyzed using content analysis to identify conceptual relationships and synthesize key findings.

The synthesis revealed that organizational resilience does not emerge from a single factor but results from the integration of organizational resources, capabilities, and managerial processes. Digital leadership plays a crucial role in establishing a digital vision, leading organizational transformation, and fostering an innovation-oriented culture. Organizational agility enables organizations to sense environmental changes, respond rapidly, and adapt effectively to dynamic conditions. Organizational innovation serves as a strategic mechanism for creating new value, improving operational performance, and sustaining competitive advantage during periods of uncertainty. Based on these findings, this article proposes the Digital Leadership–Organizational Agility–Organizational Innovation–Organizational Resilience Framework, which explains the causal relationships among these organizational capabilities. The proposed framework contributes to the academic literature by providing an integrated perspective and offers practical implications for organizational development to enhance adaptability, resilience, and long-term sustainability in the digital economy
