Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to develop a systematic learning management process integrated with a set of exercises to enhance Thai reading, analytical thinking, and writing skills among Grade 1 students at Ban Hua Saphan Mittraphap 217 School, under the Surat Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. The participants consisted of 32 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included: 1) lesson plans, with an IOC of 0.86; 2) an assessment of Thai reading, analytical thinking, and writing skills, with an IOC of 0.84; 3) a set of exercises for developing Thai reading, analytical thinking, and writing skills, with an IOC of 0.98; and 4) a satisfaction questionnaire, with an IOC of 0.78. The data were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent samples. The findings revealed that: 1) the systematic learning management process consisted of three components: input, process, and output; 2) the systematic learning management process integrated with a set of exercises, namely the 5-Step Systematic Learning Model, consisted of five steps: 1) questioning, 2) exploring and reading for comprehension, 3) analytical and in-depth thinking, 4) communicating and practicing writing skills, and 5) summarizing and reflecting. The tryout with a pilot group of 30 students yielded an efficiency (E1/E2) of 90.60/92.57, which was higher than the established criterion of 80/80. The evaluation of the effectiveness of the systematic learning management process integrated with the set of exercises showed that the students’ Thai reading, analytical thinking, and writing skills after learning were significantly higher than before learning at the .05 level. Furthermore, the students’ overall satisfaction with the systematic learning management process integrated with the set of exercises was at the highest level (Mean = 4.71, S.D. = 0.45).
