PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF THE SPORTS EXCELLENCE CENTER AT THE THAILAND NATIONAL SPORTS UNIVERSITY CHON BURI CAMPUS USING THE CIPPiest MODEL

Abstract

This mixed - methods research aimed to Performance Evaluation of the Excellence Sports Center, Thailand National Sports University, Chon Buri Campus, using the CIPPiest Model. The sample consisted of 400 administrators, coaches, athletes, sports - center graduates, and sports association executives or employers of graduates in sports organizations, using a two - stage sampling method: Stage 1 employed proportional stratified sampling, and Stage 2 employed simple random sampling. The key informants for the interviews were 20 sports association executives or employers of graduates in sports organizations, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a five - level rating scale questionnaire and semi - structured interview form. The statistics for data analysis were mean, standard deviation and inductively analyzed. Findings were as follows: 1) the evaluation of the context, input, and process dimensions, as well as the product dimension comprising impact, effectiveness, sustainability, and knowledge transferability were rated at a high level on average.
2) the Excellence Sports Center, Thailand National Sports University, Chon buri Campus, generated positive impact and demonstrated high effectiveness by producing disciplined and skillful athletes who advanced into national teams and achieved success at international competitions, as well as producing graduates whose sports - related knowledge and abilities met the requirements of sports organizations. In terms of sustainability, a limitation was identified, as the development of athletes progressing into national teams in certain sports had declined and lacked continuity. Regarding knowledge transferability, this was effectively achieved at the team and affiliated - organization levels
