RESULTS OF IMPLEMENTING AN ACTIVITY-BASED LEARNING MODEL INTEGRATED WITH TECHNOLOGY TO PROMOTE INNOVATIVENESS AND CREATIVE WORKS AMONG GRADE 8 STUDENTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to examine students' innovativeness after implementing an activity-based learning model integrated with technology, 2) to evaluate students' creative works, and 3) to explore students' opinions. Developed from preliminary data, the model comprises 5 components and 6 steps, and was validated by experts. This implementation study was conducted in the second semester of the 2022 academic year in the General Vegetable Cultivation elective course using 4 lesson plans totaling 16 hours. The target group consisted of 12 Grade 8 students at the Demonstration School of Silpakorn University (Secondary Education), selected via purposive sampling. Research instruments included lesson plans, an innovativeness assessment form, a creative works assessment form, and an opinion questionnaire, all validated by 9 experts. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results revealed that: 1) students' overall innovativeness was at a good level, with 42% at a good level, 33% at a fair level, and 25% at an excellent level, respectively; 2) students' creative works were overall at a good level ( = 14.82, S.D. = 0.47), with innovation design scoring highest and novelty scoring lowest, though remaining at a good level; and 3) students' opinions toward the learning management were overall at a high level (
= 4.30, S.D. = 0.73), with the learning process dimension receiving the highest average. These findings indicate that sequential activities supported by technology promote hands-on practice and serve as guidelines for teachers to design learning that fosters secondary students' innovativeness and creative works.
