EFFECT OF EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ON PLAYING ACOUSTIC GUITAR BY USING DAVIE'S INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL FOR PSYCHOMOTOR DOMAIN WICH MULTIMEDIA ON LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT AND PLAYING ACOUSTIC GUITAR SKILL OF GRADE 10 STUDENTS

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Compare students' academic achievement before and after participating in a supplementary curriculum activity utilizing Davies' practical skills teaching model combined with multimedia; 2) Compare the acoustic guitar playing skills of Grade 10 students taught using Davies' practical skills teaching model combined with multimedia against an 80% performance criterion; and 3) Examine students' satisfaction with the supplementary curriculum activity employing Davies' practical skills teaching model combined with multimedia. The sample group consisted of 30 Grade 10 students from Rajaprajanugroh 42 School, selected using cluster random sampling. Research instruments included ten lesson plans for the supplementary curriculum activity based on Davies' practical skills teaching model combined with multimedia, a 20-item multiple-choice achievement test on acoustic guitar performance, assessing practical guitar-playing skills test, and a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire measuring students' satisfaction with the activity. The findings revealed that: 1) Students' academic achievement after participating in the supplementary curriculum activity was significantly higher than before at the .01 level; 2) Students' acoustic guitar playing skills after the activity exceeded the 80% performance criterion with statistical significance at the .05 level; and 3) Students' overall satisfaction with the supplementary curriculum activity was at the highest level, with an average score of 4.74
