PARTICIPATION IN ELECTIONS PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION OF THE PEOPLE A CASA STUDY OF SINGBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the level of participation in the election of the provincial administrative organization of the people of Singburi and 2) compare the level of participation in the election of the provincial administrative organization of the people of Singburi classified by personal factors in order to propose a guideline to promote public participation. The research model was quantitative. The population used in the study consisted of the people of Singburi who were eligible to vote. A sample group of 400 people was obtained from the Taro Yamane ready-made table using the accidental sampling method. The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and hypothesis testing using the F-test and t-test. The research results found that 1) participation in the election of the provincial administrative organization of the people of Singburi overall, it was at a high level. Ranked from least to most was election campaign participation, and including voting rights, Participation in the election campaign, exercise of voting rights, and awareness of political news. it was found that all aspects were at a high level. 2) When comparing the local political of participation in the election of the provincial administrative organization of the people of Singburi found that participation was not different for genders, participation was not different for ages, participation was not different for levels of education, participation was not different for levels of education, and participation was not different for occupations. Suggestions: Provide legal knowledge to the public to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the right to participate and encourage them to be aware of their rights under the constitution so that they can fully exercise those rights in participating with the provincial administrative organization in various activities
