ANALYSIS OF STRATEGIES FOR CREATING PLOTS IN THE NOVEL BLUE MIST

Abstract

          The research on the analysis of plot creation strategies in the novel Blue Mist is descriptive. The study of plots, based on the theory of Thai literature analysis, is applied to this study. The objective is to analyze the plot creation strategies in Blue Mist, which consists of three stories. "This includes the stories 'Miangoo,' 'Because My Sister is a Gay,' and 'Curry Rice' from the highest continuously read fiction category on the website www.readawrite.com. The research findings reveal that the story structure has three characteristics: 1) Opening techniques, which consist of two methods- the authors most frequently open with dialogue, which effectively captures the attention of others. The second method is to begin with narration, which typically smoothly starts the story and gradually increases the narrative's intensity. 2) Conflict-creation techniques consist of two methods. The most common conflict is between a person and themselves, stemming from gender differences and romantic issues. Following that, there is a conflict between humans and supernatural beings, arising from the interspecies differences between humans and snakes. and 3) The closing of the three stories is in a happy-ending format, where despite frequent plot twists, the main characters ultimately end up happily together. It can be said that novels with diverse sexual appeal are literature that meets the needs of the 'Yaoi girls and boys' group, representing a new and rapidly expanding readership in Thai society. Novels thus serve as entertainment while incorporating ideas and narrative perspectives that reflect new social pathways, along with promoting a new attitude towards sex to foster understanding that alternative sexual relationships are a normal part of human existence".
