LOCAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP AFFECTING THE LIFE QUALITY OF PEOPLE IN SIKHIO DISTRICT, NAKHON RATCHASIMA PROVINCE

Abstract
This research article aimed to study the level of quality of life of the people, analyze local development and transformational leadership that affected the quality of life of the people, and propose guidelines for improving the quality of life of the people in Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. The samples consisted of 400 residents aged 18 years and over who lived in Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, selected through a calculation formula, and 20 key informants selected purposively. The research instruments used for data collection included a questionnaire and an in-depth interview form. The statistics used in the study included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that the overall quality of life of the people was at a high level. The mean scores, ranked from highest to lowest, were in the following aspects: physical environment, community life, working life, health, family life, economic security and safety, and intellectual use. The analysis of local development and transformational leadership that affected the quality of life of the people showed that motivation enhancement, improvement of life and property security, promotion and development of infrastructure to enhance the economy, tourism, trade, investment, and industry, as well as being a good role model, had an effect on the quality of life of the people in Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, at 52.80 percent with statistical significance at the .05 level. The study recommended promoting and developing infrastructure to elevate the economy, tourism, trade, investment, and industry, as well as encouraging local leaders to be good role models in order to foster morale, good conduct, and serve as examples for future local development.
