Abstract

This academic article’s objective is to suggest guidelines for applying the 5-step learning process (5 STEPs) to the organization of learning activities for Thai literature at the secondary school level. It is an effective way to encourage learners to become citizens of the 21st century. This is because the 5-step learning process will promote learners to be lifelong learners. They have the skills to search for knowledge and have the necessary basic awareness, including being able to communicate the literature effectively to respond to the results of teaching literature in 3 aspects as follows: 1) Learners should be able to summarize stories or content for their own understanding and convey it to others. 2) Learners should gain access to literary values through thought processes such as literary arts, and social and cultural content; 3) learners should be encouraged to think and express their opinions through interaction with literature and be able to apply what they have learned in real life. Based on the above results, a 5-step learning process can be used to help encourage learners with life skills. Cooperate when working with others as well. Continuous learning and self-improvement: the emphasis is placed on learning that arises from the needs of the learners and takes action for direct experience as well as applies and extends the body of knowledge by themselves and can adapt to society happily, which is a model of learning management that can develop learning management in Thai literature for learners to have more effective learning behaviors.
