Guidelines for Authors

Manuscripts submitted to the Buddhist ASEAN Studies Journal must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to comply strictly with the journal’s policies, formats, and procedures for submitting research articles, academic articles, book reviews, review articles, and special articles. In-text citations and reference lists must follow the APA 6th edition format; footnote-style referencing is not permitted. All numerical data presented in the manuscript must use Arabic numerals only.

The views and opinions expressed in the articles are solely those of the authors and do not reflect the views or responsibilities of the editorial board. Authors must adhere to research ethics and must not plagiarize or misappropriate others’ work. The journal employs the CopyCatch system via ThaiJO, with a similarity threshold not exceeding 25%.

Submission Process and Requirements

Authors must comply with the following procedures:

  • Authors must carefully study and ensure that their manuscripts conform to the journal’s formatting requirements.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted as a Microsoft Word file via the online system at: https://so07.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/basj/login
  • Authors must provide their institutional affiliation and a direct contact telephone number in the Discussion Box.
  • Manuscripts must pass an initial format screening by the editorial board, and authors must revise them accordingly.
  • The content and structure of the manuscript must be approved by the editorial board before being sent for peer review.
  • Each manuscript must be reviewed by at least two reviewers, and the editorial board’s decision is final.
  • Once accepted, authors must pay a publication fee of 3,500 THB per article to the designated account and submit proof of payment via the system. The journal does not charge any additional fees beyond this amount.
  • If a manuscript is rejected after review, the journal reserves the right not to publish the article and will not refund the fee.
  • Authors agree to accept the journal’s classification status as determined by the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI), without objection.
  • Revised manuscripts must highlight all changes in red text for verification. Failure to do so will be considered as not revising the manuscript.
  • The revised manuscript must be resubmitted within two weeks after receiving reviewers’ comments.
  • If the English abstract is found to be inadequate, the journal may assign a language expert for revision at a cost of 500 THB, to be borne by the author.
  • Even after acceptance, if the author cannot be contacted or fails to revise the manuscript within the specified timeframe, the journal reserves the right to withdraw acceptance and cancel publication.
  • The editorial board reserves the right to determine the order of publication without prior consent from authors.
  • Authors are responsible for regularly monitoring the progress of their submissions through the journal system.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the ThaiJO online system at:

After submission, authors should notify the editorial board via the contact channels provided by the journal.

Manuscript Preparation

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format only.
  2. The manuscript must be typed on A4 paper, with a length of 10–15 pages (including references), single-column format, using TH SarabunPSK font, size 16 pt.
  3. Margins must be set to 1 inch on all sides, with single line spacing and paragraph indentation of one tab (7 spaces).
  4. Figures and tables must be clear, numbered, and captioned below (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1, Model 1), with concise and self-explanatory descriptions.
  5. The title must be provided in both Thai and English, bold, size 18 pt, centered.
  6. Author names must be provided in both Thai and English (16 pt), aligned to the right, without academic titles (except for monks), and with superscript numbers indicating affiliations.
  7. Abstracts in both Thai and English must not exceed 500 words each.
  8. Keywords (3–5 terms) must be provided in both Thai and English.
  9. Headings: main headings (bold, 16 pt) aligned left; subheadings indented appropriately.
  10. Only Arabic numerals must be used throughout the manuscript.
  11. References must follow APA 6th edition. Academic articles should include at least 15 references, while research articles should include at least 8 references.
  12. Manuscripts must be submitted via the online system указан above.

Editorial Rights

The editorial board reserves the right to request revisions based on reviewers’ recommendations, which will serve as the primary criteria for evaluation. The journal also reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet academic standards or fail to incorporate required revisions.

If plagiarism is detected (similarity exceeding 25%) or if the manuscript has been previously published, the journal reserves the right to reject or withdraw the article at any stage of the publication process.
