การทำให้เป็นปาตานี: การประกอบสร้างการเมืองแห่งอัตลักษณ์มลายูปัตตานี (ปตานี)

บทคัดย่อ
เหตุการณ์ความไม่สงบในพื้นที่ 3 จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ระลอกใหม่ที่ประทุขึ้นราว พ.ศ. 2547 งานวิชาการหลายชิ้นเสนอว่าเป็นเรื่องของความขัดแย้งทางชาติพันธุ์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสำนึกทางด้านประวัติศาสตร์ บ้างว่ามาจากสำนึกด้านศาสนาอิสลามเป็นหลักโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งหลักปรัชญาสงครามศาสนา (ญิฮัด) บทความนี้จึงมีจุดประสงค์เพื่อกลับไปตรวจสอบปัจจัย/สาเหตุของการต่อต้านรัฐ พบว่า การสร้างอัตลักษณ์ทางการเมืองของชาวมลายูปัตตานีให้เป็นศัตรูกับความเป็นไทยผ่าน “การทำให้เป็นปาตานี” (Patanisation) เป็นปัจจัยเบื้องต้นที่ฝ่ายขบวนการฯ ใช้ประโยชน์ในการปลุกปั่นความรู้สึกเกลียดชังรัฐไทยและคนไทยทั้งที่เป็นวาทกรรม “ใหม่” ที่เพิ่งจะถูกสถาปนาขึ้นเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2540 ดังมีตัวอย่าง เช่น การใช้ประโยชน์จากประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์ และการอ้างบางส่วนของจังหวัดสงขลาและสตูลเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของปัตตานี ทั้งที่ไม่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกันเลยทั้งทางประวัติศาสตร์และวัฒนธรรม
