HALAL BIO PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT FRAMEWORK WASTE OF POULTRY SLAUGHTERHOUSES UNDER THE CONCEPT OF CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Main Article Content
Abstract
The rise of plastic waste from petroleum and poultry slaughterhouse waste is a key sustainability issue. Therefore, bioplastic packaging from renewable biomaterials has gained attention as an alternative under the concept of circular economy and sustainable food systems. The waste from poultry slaughterhouses such as feathers, skins, collagen, and keratin has the potential to add value as biodegradable packaging materials. This article aims to synthesize knowledge on halal sustainability. Circular Bioeconomy To develop the Halal Bioplastic Packaging Framework, this study uses a descriptive and conceptual literature review. Narrative and Conceptual Literature Review by searching Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases for the period 2015 - 2026. With search terms related to halal packaging, poultry slaughterhouse waste, keratin, collagen, bioplastic, biodegradable packaging, circular economy, and sustainable food system, then select documents that are in line with the objectives and synthesized with Thematic Content Synthesis The results of the review found five key issues: 1) fur, keratin, skin, and collagen have the potential to be value - added bio - based raw materials, 2) the processing of waste into packaging supports the circular economy, 3) biomaterials have the potential to reduce dependence on fossil plastics and environmental impacts, 4) halal packaging must be controlled in accordance with halal principles throughout the value chain, and 5) the integration of Halalan Tayyiban, circular economy, ESG, and sustainability can lead to a halal packaging conceptual framework that covers t he dimensions of religion, environment, economy, and society. This can be used as a basis for empirical research. Life Cycle Assessment and Sustainable Development of Halal Packaging in the Future
