Buddhist Innovation in Communication of Sammapadhana IV through the Metaverse Application for Self-Learning of Mathayom III Students at Udomwittaya School

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the current state of learning Buddhist religious principles of students, 2) to create and validate the effectiveness of the Metaverse application on Sammapadhana IV for self-learning of students, and 3) to analyze Buddhist communication innovations through the Metaverse application on Sammapadhana IV for self-learning of secondary school students in Mathayom III. The study was conducted by 50 students in Mathayom III of Udom Witthaya School. Qualitative data was analyzed by content analysis and quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and t-test. Research results found that 1) the current state of students' learning of religious Buddhist principles found that the students' learning of Buddhist religious principles was in accordance with the changing context of the Ministry of Education, which integrated Buddhist principles in organizing learning activities, but it found that there was not appear an important principlenin the details of the learning content that related Sammapadhana IV. This Buddhist principle is needed to design learning activity integrating creative innovation for student’s learning motivation. The developed Metaverse Application on Sammappadhana IV for self-learning of students was divided into 3 learning-based activities: Activity 1, Preparation Room for student dressing room; Activity 2, Teaching Materials Room for classroom regulation; and Activity 3, Self-study room for learning. Results of the validating of the effectiveness of the Metaverse application on Sammappadhana IV was 82.80/85.00, which was higher than the criteria of 80/80. It can be interpreted that the Metaverse Application on Sammapadhana IV was appropriate for utilization of self-learning for Mathayom III students. Results of Buddhist innovation in communication of Sammapadhana IV through the metaverse application for self-learning of Mathayom III Students at Udomwittaya School showed that comparison of the average scores of students before and after using the Metaverse application on Sammappadhana IV was different, and the average score of self-learning after using the Metaverse application on Sammappadhana IV was statistically significant higher than before using the Metaverse application on Sammappadhana IV at the level of .05, and the level of satisfaction with the use of the Metaverse application on Sammappadhana IV of Mathayom III students at Udom Witthaya School was at a high level.
