Abstract

This article examines the use of retro technology as a tool for bridging generational gaps and strengthening family relationships in the digital age. Through three case studies examining vinyl records, film/Polaroid cameras, and classic car maintenance, we explore how these technologies create shared learning spaces between family members of different generations. The study demonstrates how retro technology facilitates knowledge transfer, experience sharing, and joint activities, with older generations passing down expertise while younger members gain historical skills and values. This interaction leads to stronger family bonds and reduced generational gaps. The research also provides practical guidelines for implementing retro technology in intergenerational relationship building, offering sustainable solutions for families and society to bridge generational divides through technological heritage.
