Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) examine the actual conditions and the expectations of the public regarding public services of Lahan Sai Subdistrict Municipality. 2) compare the differences between the actual conditions and the expectations of public services of Lahan Sai Subdistrict Municipality and 3) propose guidelines for the development of public services of Lahan Sai Subdistrict Municipality. The study employed a quantitative research design with a sample of 368 participants, using a questionnaire as the research instrument. The statistical methods applied for data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.

          The research findings revealed that: 1) The overall and individual aspects of the current state of public services were found to be at a high level. Similarly, the expectations of public services, both overall and by aspect, were also found to be at a high level. 2) A comparison between the current state and expectations of public services in Lahan Sai Subdistrict Municipality showed that there were no statistically significant differences overall or in any individual aspect at the .05 level of significance. 3) The opinions and suggestions for improving public services in the municipality indicated that Lahan Sai Subdistrict Municipality still needs to develop its infrastructure. The community’s quality of life should be continuously promoted, especially for the elderly, through health programs and vocational training. Regarding community organization and safety, there should be improvements in traffic management, installation of street lighting and CCTV cameras, and the organization of creative activities for youth. In terms of the local economy, the municipality should support SMEs and OTOP enterprises and promote local tourism development. For the environment, waste management, reduction of chemical usage, and forest conservation are necessary. Furthermore, there should be efforts to revitalize local arts, culture, and wisdom, adapting them to the modern lifestyle through media and contemporary community activities.
