AN EVALUATION OF THE MORAL AND ETHICAL TRAINING PROGRAM: “SELF-GUIDED MORALITY, ETHICS FOR NATIONAL CITIZENSHIP” AT BAN CHAMPA SCHOOL UNDER NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 2

This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of a project implemented for participants at four levels: reaction, learning, behavior, and results, based on Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model. The research employed a mixed methods approach. The target group consisted of 42 teachers and students from Ban Champa School. Research instruments included questionnaires, achievement tests, observation forms, evaluation forms, and interviews. Data were analyzed using mean, percentage, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The findings revealed that: (1) at the reaction level, participants’ overall responses were at the highest level, indicating acceptance of and satisfaction with the activity design, content, and training materials, which were appropriate to the participants’ context; (2) at the learning level, participants’ post-training achievement was higher than their pre-training achievement and met the established criteria, demonstrating that the training process effectively enhanced knowledge and understanding of morality and ethics; (3) at the behavior level, overall behavioral change was at a high level, reflecting the application of acquired knowledge and moral principles to positive behaviors in daily life; and (4) at the results level, overall project outcomes were at a high level in terms of both learners and the school’s learning environment. Qualitative data supported that the project concretely promoted ethical behavior and contributed to a learning atmosphere that sustainably promotes morality and ethics.
The findings indicate that project evaluation based on Kirkpatrick’s four-level evaluation model can systematically reflect outcomes in learners’ moral and ethical development and can be used as a guideline for monitoring and sustainably developing morality-based projects in educational institutions.
