THE ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS INFLUENCING ACADEMIC MANAGEMENT IN OPPORTUNITY EXPANSION SCHOOLS UNDER THE SAMUT SAKHON PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

The purposes of this research were: 1) to examine the level of administrative skills of school administrators in opportunity expansion schools under the Samut Sakhon Primary Educational Service Area Office; 2) to investigate the level of academic administration in these schools; and 3) to determine the administrative skills of school administrators affecting academic administration in the opportunity expansion schools under the Samut Sakhon Primary Educational Service Area Office. The sample consisted of 258 school administrators and teachers. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings revealed that:
- The overall level of administrative skills of school administrators was at a high level. When considering each aspect, conceptual skills had the highest mean, followed by human skills, while technical skills had the lowest mean.
- The overall level of academic administration was at a high level. Considering each aspect, the development of internal quality assurance systems and educational standards showed the highest mean, followed by coordination of academic collaboration with educational institutions and other organizations, whereas educational supervision had the lowest mean.
- The administrative skills that most influenced academic administration were human skills and conceptual skills, which affected academic administration at the .01 level of statistical significance. These factors could jointly predict academic administration at 93.00 percent.
