TEACHERS’ PARTICIPATION IN SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AFFECTING TEACHERS’ WORK EFFECTIVENESS OF SPECIAL EDUCATION CENTERS UNDER THE SPECIAL EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION GROUP 2

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the level of teachers’ participation in administration in Special Education Centers, 2) to examine the level of teachers’ work performance effectiveness in Special Education Centers, 3) to investigate the relationship between teachers’ participation in administration and their work performance effectiveness, and 4) to examine the participation in administration of teachers affecting their work performance effectiveness in Special Education Centers under Group 2 of the Bureau of Special Education Administration. The sample used in this research consisted of 234 teachers from Special Education Centers under Group 2 of the Bureau of Special Education Administration, obtained through stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The research findings revealed that: 1) overall, teachers’ participation in administration in Special Education Centers was at a high level, with the operational aspect having the highest mean and the decision-making aspect having the lowest mean; 2) the overall effectiveness of teachers’ work performance was at a high level, with classroom management and learning environment management having the highest mean, while research and development of learning innovations had the lowest mean; 3) all aspects of teachers’ participation in administration were positively correlated with overall teachers’ work performance effectiveness at the .01 level of statistical significance; and 4) four aspects of teachers’ participation in administration—evaluation, operation, benefit sharing, and decision-making—together explained 74.20 percent of the variance in teachers’ work performance effectiveness, with three aspects having positive effects while decision-making had a negative effect.
