Abstract

This research aimed to 1) examine job characteristics, administrative support, professional development and compensation, and the work happiness of teachers at Prommanusorn Phetchaburi School. and 2) analyze the effects of job characteristics and workload, administrative support, and professional development and compensation on teachers’ work happiness. This study employed a quantitative research design. The population consisted of 180 teachers at Prommanusorn Phetchaburi School, and data were collected from the entire population using a questionnaire. Statistical analyses included mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis.

         The findings revealed that 1) the overall level of teachers’ work happiness was at a high level. When considered by aspects, all dimensions including job security and organizational retention, work-life balance, positive relationships with colleagues and administrators, sense of value and recognition, and job satisfaction were also at a high level 2) the overall level of factors affecting teachers’ work happiness was high, and all individual factors were also rated at a high level. Furthermore, job characteristics, administrative support, and professional development and compensation significantly influenced teachers’ work happiness. In addition, differences in personal characteristics resulted in statistically significant differences in teachers’ work happiness at the .05 level.
