Keywords:

This independent study aimed to: 1) examine the competencies of school administrators; 2) investigate the effectiveness of school administration by school administrators; 3) analyze the relationship between administrators’ competencies and the effectiveness of school administration; and 4) identify the predictive variables of administrators’ competencies affecting the effectiveness of school administration. Population: The population consisted of teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani–Chumphon in the academic year 2025 (B.E. 2568). The sample size was 341 participants, determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table. A simple random sampling technique was employed through a lottery method, in which teachers’ names were grouped by school and selected without replacement. Research Instrument: The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. Statistical Analysis: The statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using both the enter method and stepwise method.
The findings revealed that: 1) The overall competencies of school administrators were at the highest level. ( = 4.53, = 0.21) 2) The overall effectiveness of school administration by school administrators was at the highest level. ( = = 4.53, = 0.20) 3) The competencies of school administrators were positively correlated at a high level with the effectiveness of school administration (r = .725), with statistical significance at the .01 level. And 4) Regarding the predictive variables of administrators’ competencies affecting the effectiveness of school administration, it was found that achievement orientation and teamwork significantly predicted the effectiveness of school administration at the .01 level, accounting for 53.5% of the variance. The regression equations were as follows: Unstandardized equation: ŷ = 1.731 + .380 (X3) + .238 (X4) Standardized-score equation: Ẑ = .487 (X3) + .236 (X4)
