A NEEDS ASSESSMENT OF TEACHERS FOR DEVELOPING SCHOOL SAFETY OPERATIONS IN KHUN-IN SCHOOL GROUP UNDER THE ANG THONG PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

The objectives of this study were: 1) to examine the actual and desirable states of teachers regarding school safety operations in Khun In School Group, and 2) to assess the priority needs for developing school safety operations in Khun In School Group.The population consisted of 98 teachers from Khun In School Group under the Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office. The research instrument was a five-level rating scale questionnaire comprising 40 items covering three main components: (1) Prevention, (2) Cultivation, and (3) Suppression. Content validity was verified by three experts, yielding Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) values ranging from .67 to 1.00. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNIModified).
The findings revealed that: 1) the overall actual state and each dimension of teachers' school safety operations were at a high level, while the overall desirable state and each dimension were at the highest level, with the desirable state mean scores exceeding the actual state mean scores in all dimensions; and 2) the priority needs ranked from highest to lowest were: Prevention (PNIModified = 0.143), followed by Suppression (PNIModified = 0.136), and Cultivation (PNIModified = 0.110), respectively.
