ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER THE SONGKHLA PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 3

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) study the level of academic administration of school administrators, 2) compare the academic administration of school administrators classified by age, work experience, and school size, and 3) study recommendations regarding the academic administration of school administrators. This research was a survey research. The sample group consisted of 341 teachers under Songkhla Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, obtained by using Krejcie and Morgan’s table and stratified random sampling. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire with the reliability value of 0.979. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, F-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Scheffé’s pairwise comparison method.

         The research findings revealed that: 1) the overall academic administration of school administrators was at a high level (𝑥̅ = 4.50, SD = 0.21). The aspect with the highest mean was the development of internal quality assurance systems and educational standards (𝑥̅ = 4.53, SD = 0.22). 2) The comparison of academic administration of school administrators classified by age and work experience showed statistically significant differences at the .05 level overall, indicating that age and work experience were related to the level of academic administration of school administrators. 3) Recommendations from teachers indicated that school administrators should focus on friendly supervision, promote teachers’ participation in curriculum development and learner-centered learning management, as well as support the use of technology media and research for continuous educational quality development.
