DEMOCRATIC POLITICAL BEHAVIORS OF CITIZENS IN VOTING FOR MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IN BANGKOK

The objectives of this study were 1) to examine level of political behavior according to democratic way of citizens, 2) to analyze factors of political behavior affecting political behavior according to the democratic way of citizens, and 3) to propose guidelines for developing political behavior according to the democratic way of citizens.The research methodology was mixed method. The study conceptual framework was applied from concepts of Pantipa Aktheeranai. The sample size of 400 people was determined using Krejci and Morgan table. Five community leaders, 5 government officials, and 5 students were interviewed. The study instruments were an interviewed form and a five level rating scales questionnaire. The interviewed data were analyzed by content analysis. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression.
The study results revealed that 1. level of democratic political behavior of citizens as a whole was at a much level. When considering each aspect by mean from high to low found that 4 aspects were at much levels consisted of democracy political participation in elections, public mind or awareness of the public interest in elections, political understanding in democracy in elections, perception of political information. One aspect namely interaction with local and national political activities in elections was at a moderate level. 2. The analysis results of factors related to political behavior showed that applicant attribute factor, the candidate's campaign, political party, policy, media person, and awareness of political communication through online media affecting political behavior according to the democratic way of citizens at 52.3% with a statistically significant level of .01. And 3. guidelines for developing political behavior according to the democratic way of citizens, party executives should innovate to find ways to campaign for candidates,
