GUIDELINES FOR PROMOTING PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AREA AROUND THE QUARRY OF HAT KHAM SUBDISTRICT, KUI BURI DISTRICT, PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to study 1) Study the level of public participation. 2) Study personal characteristics related to public participation. 3) Study factors affecting public participation that affect public participation. 4) Study ways to promote public participation in community development in the area surrounding the quarry. The sample group used in the study were people around the quarry. of Hat Kham Subdistrict, a total of 334 people. They were selected by quota random sampling and accidental random sampling and 8 key informants. They were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument for collecting data were questionnaire and interview form. Analysis data by Descriptive statistics were frequency percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test, multiple regression analysis and Content Analysis.

          The research results were found as follows; 1) Public participation is at a high level 2) overall personal characteristics There is no relationship with public participation. 3) Factors affecting public participation Cognitive aspect People's way of life There is a cause-effect relationship with public participation. Statistically significant at the 0.001 level in terms of community commitment. There is a relationship at the level of 0.01 and in the area of community leaders There is a relationship at the level of 0.05 and 4) Guidelines for promoting public participation in community development found that people should listen to suggestions and various opinions. People should be encouraged to volunteer to help develop the community voluntarily. People should be encouraged to participate in monitoring and evaluation as a guideline for further development and improvement.
