GOVERNMENT SUPPORTING GUIDELINES FOR ROOM RENTAL BUSINESSES

The objectives of this research are 1) to study government measures related to room rental businesses, 2) to analyze government measures that are problems and obstacles in operating a room rental business, and 3) to present the government supporting guidelines for room rental businesses. Using qualitative research methodology consisting of documentary research and in-depth interviews. The key informants were 20 participants, divided into 3 groups: 8 government and private sector officials, 10 room rental business entrepreneurs, and 2 representatives of the room rental business association. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis of the collected data to present the research results according to the set objectives.
The research results are summarized as follows:
- Significant government measures related to room rental businesses include 1) residential tenancy legislation, 2) regulation and certification of facilities standards, 3) promotion and support for investment 4) Promotion of sustainability and efficient resource use, and 5) Support for Education and Training.
- Government measures that are problems and obstacles in operating a room rental business include 1) complex laws and regulations, 2) financial and taxation issues, 3) competition, 4) Social and Environmental Concerns, 5) Legal Conflicts, and 6) Political Control.
- Government support guidelines for room rental businesses include
1) Creating policies supportive of the rental accommodation business,
2) Financial assistance, 3) Academic and training support, 4) Creating suitable spaces, and 5) Creating policies supporting local development.
