In contemporary times, higher education plays a crucial role in the development of international students who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Adapting to a new social and cultural environment is challenging and requires appropriate support to help them adjust and succeed in their new educational setting. This academic article presents key issues related to cultural integration, communication, and adaptation of international students. It includes the following topics: 1) cultural integration, 2) components of cultural integration, 3) concepts and theories of cross-cultural communication and adaptation, 4) the role of educational institutions, 5) the impact of successful adaptation, and 6) future development strategies.The author has analyzed and summarized the knowledge from these studies to demonstrate methods that can be used to support and develop the adaptation of international students in higher education institutions. The knowledge from this article can be applied to design programs and activities that support student adaptation, provide counseling and psychological support, and create effective social networks. This, in turn, will increase the chances of academic success and a fulfilling life abroad for international students.
