PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN NA AN SUBDISTRICT MUNICIPALITY MUEANG LOEI DISTRICT, LOEI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study people's participation in community development in Na-an Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province, 2) compare people's participation in community development in Na-an Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province classified by gender, age, education level and occupation, and 3) propose a guideline for developing people's participation in community development in Na-an Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province. The sample consisted of 383 people whose names were recorded in the household census living in Na-an Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province, aged 18 years and over. The research used Taro Yamane's formula. The questionnaire was used as the data collection tool. The statistics used for analysis were count, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The data analysis was conducted by t-statistics and F-statistics. The research results found that:

1. The participation of people in community development in Na-an Sub-district Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province was at a moderate level overall ( = 3.31). When considering each aspect, the aspect with the highest average value was participation in decision-making ( = 3.35), followed by participation in operations ( = 3.34), and the aspect with the lowest average value was participation in receiving benefits ( = 3.26).
2. The results of the comparison of the participation of people in community development in Na-an Sub-district Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province, classified by gender, age, education level, and occupation. Overall, the overall age of people Different levels of education and occupations have different public participation in community development in Na-an Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province, which are statistically significant at the 0.05 level. People with different genders have no different public participation in community development in Na-an Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province.
3. Guidelines for developing public participation in community development in Na-an Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Loei District, Loei Province include supporting public participation in political decision-making, economic and social development planning, and the provision of public services.
