PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL DEVELOPMENT OF NONG HUA KHU SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, BAN PHUE DISTRICT UDON THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the level of public participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization, 2) study the comparative level of public participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization classified by gender, age, education level, occupation and average monthly income, and 3) propose guidelines for developing public participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The sample group used in this research was 380 people aged 18 years and over in Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization using the Taroyamane formula. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used for analysis were descriptive statistics, including numbers, percentages, means, and standard deviations, and inferential statistics, including t-tests and F-tests.

          The research results showed that :

1. The public participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization is at a high level overall. When considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average value is the aspect of participation in evaluation, followed by the aspect of participation in receiving benefits, and the aspect with the lowest average value is the aspect of participation in implementation. 2. Comparison of the level of public participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization classified by gender, age, education level, occupation, and average monthly income. Overall, people with different occupations have different participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization with statistical significance at the 0.05 level. People with different genders, ages, education levels, and average monthly income have no different participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization. 3. The guidelines for developing public participation in local development of Nong Huakhu Subdistrict Administrative Organization include supporting public participation in political decision-making, economic and social development planning, and the provision of public services.
