PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN WAT LUANG SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, PHON PHISAI DISTRICT, NONG KHAI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the participation of people in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, 2) compare the participation of people in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization classified by gender, age, status, education level, occupation and average monthly income, and 3) obtain recommendations for the participation of people in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The sample group used in this research was the population living in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, aged 18 years and over, totaling 380 people, using Taroyamane's formula. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used for analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and data analysis for hypothesis testing using the T-Test and F-Test.

          The research results found that:

1. Public participation in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phon Phisai District, Nong Khai Province, is at a high level overall. When considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average value was participation in evaluation, followed by participation in decision-making, and the aspect with the lowest average value was participation in receiving benefits.
2. Results of the comparison of public participation in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization Classified by gender, age, status, education level, occupation, and average monthly income, overall, it was found that people with different ages and occupations participated in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization at a statistically significant level of 0.05. People with different genders, status, education level, and average monthly income participated in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization at no different levels.
3. Recommendations for public participation in community development in Wat Luang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phon Phisai District, Nong Khai Province include: 1) People should participate in prioritizing projects to solve problems resulting from public policy determination. 2) Meetings should be held to provide people with information necessary for planning the steps in managing public policy determination. 3) A questionnaire on project satisfaction with various plans should be created so that those involved can assess their satisfaction with their work. 4) Ways should be found for people in the community to earn income, have jobs, and have additional careers, and create love and unity in the community.
