PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OF KUTTHAT SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, NONG NA KHAM DISTRICT, KHON KAEN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to study 1) public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization, 2) compare the level of public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization classified by gender, age, education level and occupation, and 3) propose guidelines for public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The sample group used in this research was 384 eligible voters living in the area of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization using Yamane's formula. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used for analysis were number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and data analysis. Hypothesis testing was done using t-test and f-test.

          The research results found that:

1. Public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Nong Na Kham District, Khon Kaen Province, was at a high level overall. When considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average value was participation in receiving benefits, followed by participation in operations, and the aspect with the lowest average value was participation in decision-making.
2. Results of the comparative analysis of the level of public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization Categorized by gender, age, education level, and occupation. Overall, people with different ages and occupations had significantly different public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization at the 0.05 level. People with different genders and education levels had no different public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization.
3. Results of the analysis of the guidelines for public participation in community development of Kutthat Subdistrict Administrative Organization include organizing meetings or forums that provide opportunities for community members to express their opinions or exchange opinions about community problems and development.
