THE RESULTS OF MOVEMENT ACTIVITIES WITH NARRATION ON THE EXPRESSIVE BEHAVIOR OF CHILDREN

Abstract

The objectives of this study were 1) to study the assertive behavior of early childhood children before and after teaching using subtitled movement activities, and 2) to compare the assertive behavior of early childhood children before and after teaching using subtitled movement activities. The sample used in the research was 20 early childhood children, boys and girls, aged between 4-5 years old, who are studying in the second year of kindergarten, semester 1, academic year 2024, Ban Yang Early Childhood Development Center, Kaeng Sub-district, Det Udom District, Ubon Ratchathani Province (Kaeng Sub-district Administrative Organization, 2024). The research tools used were: 1) 12 plans for movement activities with narration and 2) an observation form with six items to assess the assertiveness behavior of preschool children. The statistics used include mean, standard deviation, and t-value test.

The research findings showed that:

1. The overall assertiveness behavior of preschool children before engaging in the movement activities accompanied by narration was low. After the children participated in these activities, their assertiveness behavior was high.
2. Preschool children's assertiveness behavior after engaging in the movement activities was significantly higher than before, with a statistical significance level of 05.
