FACTORS THAT PROMOTE JOB RETENTION OF TEACHERS AND FINANCIAL OFFICERS OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS UNDER THE BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION: MULTIPLE CASE STUDY

This research aimed to 1) study the factors that promote the retention of finance teachers in educational institutions under the Office of the Basic Education Commission and 2) study the recommendations for promoting the retention of finance teachers in educational institutions. This research was qualitative using a multi-case study method. There were 2 main groups of informants: 1) 3 school administrators and 2) 3 finance teachers, totaling 6 people from schools with good budget management systems. Data analysis used inductive content analysis.
The research results found that 1) the results of the study of the factors that promote the retention of finance teachers found 6 aspects: 1) organization and policy, 2) career advancement, 3) compensation and welfare, 4) personal, 5) job characteristics, and 6) executives. In addition, 2 new factors were found: ethics and support, which affected the commitment, satisfaction, and job security of finance teachers. The results of this study can be applied as a guideline for developing personnel management systems in other schools. 2) recommendations for promoting the retention of finance teachers found that executives play an important role in creating job security for personnel through promoting the work environment, continuous encouragement, and supporting the development of skills related to financial management. It also allows staff to participate in planning and decision-making, which helps to build engagement and intention to stay in the job in the long term. This research can be applied to your own school to help teachers and finance officers continue to work effectively.
