A DEVELOPMENT OF CITIZEN’S POLITICAL PARTTICIPATION AFFECTING IN EXERCISING THE RIGHT TO VOTE IN LOCAL ELECTIONS OF WANGWON SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, KANTANG DISTRICT, TRANG PROVINCE

The objectives of this research were: 1) to examine the level of citizens’ political participation that influences the exercise of voting rights in local elections, and 2) to identify approaches for enhancing political participation affecting voter turnout in the Wangwon Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Kantang District, Trang Province. This study employed a quantitative research methodology. The sample consisted of 355 eligible voters residing within the Wangwon Subdistrict Administrative Organization area, determined using Yamane’s formula. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research results revealed: 1. The overall level of citizens’ political participation influencing the exercise of voting rights in local elections was high. When ranked by mean score from highest to lowest, the aspects were: peaceful problem-solving, political participation, acceptance of political cultural diversity, rational analytical thinking, and political awareness. 2. Guidelines for developing citizens’ political participation affecting voter turnout comprised five key approaches: 1) supporting campaigns and activities to enhance knowledge regarding the importance of local elections, 2) promoting open forums for exchanging opinions, 3) encouraging participation at all levels, 4) providing platforms for the public to voice concerns, and 5) expanding opportunities for citizens to express their views.
