Effects of Self-Esteem Empathy and Perceived Anonymity on Cyber Bullying

Social media is another popular platform used by people today. It serves as a space for exchanging ideas, information, and fostering creativity. However, there are also widespread negative impacts associated with social media use, such as Cyber bullying. This study aims to investigate the Effects of self-esteem, empathy, and perceived anonymity Cyber bullying behavior. The sample consisted of 181 bachelor’s degree students from Kasetsart University, Bangkhen, with data collected through an online questionnaire, which had a reliability coefficient ranging from .91 to .93. The research findings reveal that self-esteem does not effects on Cyber bullying behavior (β = -.01, p = .870). Empathy has negative effects on Cyber bullying behavior (β = -.59, p < .001), while perceived anonymity has positive effects on Cyber bullying behavior (β = .22, p < .001). The results can be used to inform strategies for reducing cyber bullying behavior in bachelor’s degree students.
