Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional stage between childhood and adulthood, during which significant developmental changes occur in various aspects. The surrounding environment plays a crucial role in shaping adolescent behavior. If adolescents are exposed to an unsuitable environment, they may be at risk of developing violent behavior. Studies have shown that most adolescents with violent behavioral issues come from environments that do not support proper development and learning in a positive direction.

Violent behavior in adolescent’s manifests in various forms. The causes of such behavior stem from a complex interplay of internal and external factors. Therefore, addressing this issue requires a comprehensive approach that considers all contributing factors. Research has found that promoting emotional and social learning skills is an effective approach to preventing violent behavior in adolescents. This can be implemented in various ways and applied across all relevant contexts, making it a highly effective strategy for preventing adolescent violent behavior.

Therefore, this article aims to present approaches for developing emotional and social learning skills to prevent violent behavior in adolescents. It covers key topics, including the essential characteristics of adolescent development, the nature and causes of violent behavior in adolescents, strategies for addressing such behavior, the attributes of emotional and social learning in adolescents, and methods for its development. The goal is to provide guidance and support to help adolescents acquire skills that will enable them to effectively manage behavioral issues that may arise.
