The Role of the Community Leaders in Developing Ban Khlong Sam, Village No. 16, Khlong Sam Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

          This study, the Role of the Community Leaders in Developing Ban Khlong Sam, Village No. 16, Khlong Sam Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province aimed to examine the changes in the Ban Khlong Sam community and to investigate the leadership role in the growth of the Ban Khlong Sam Community. The sample group consisted of 27 community scholars, and the committees of Khlong Sam Village, Village No.16, Khlong Sam Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, and a sample group of 3 non-formal education teachers in Khlong Luang District Lecturer, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University Klong Sam Subdistrict Pattanakarn. Qualitative research method was used in this study. It was discovered that the changes of Ban Khlong Sam community were caused by government policies, natural disasters, and politics. The changes were in economic, social, and the community environment. Regarding the leadership roles in community development, it was discovered that the leaders played the following roles: 1. supporting the participation of individuals in the community 2. the function of community management. 3. stimulating or inducing community members' interest and carrying out activities that were beneficial to the community. 4.Changing, promoting, and supporting the improvement of quality of life and social development to have more jobs and  sources of income. 5. coordinating and networking between the leaders in Pathum Thani Province, Khlong Luang District and the external development networks into the community. 6. creating new leaders, providing youths with opportunities to learn about the community development, and cultivating values of community and local responsibility.
