Factors Affecting the Strategic Management Process of Science School Administrators Under the New Normal Situation in Thailand

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study: 1) the level of strategic management factors of science school administrators in Thailand; 2) the level of strategic management process of science school administrators in Thailand; and 3) the factors affecting to administrators’ strategic management process of science school administrators in Thailand. This research used Mixed methodology research. The sample group consisted of 367 teachers and educational staff of science schools in Thailand. They were obtained by using proportional comparisons and simple random sampling method with a 5-level estimation questionnaire and a structured interview form. Quantitative data is analyzed by stepwise multiple regression analysis and qualitative data analysis by inductive content analysis.

The research results were as follows: 1) the level of administrative factors of science school administrators in Thailand and in each aspect was at a high level. In descending order, i.e. innovation and educational technology, leadership of administrators, building of affective domain, good governance and participation and human resource management, respectively; 2) The overall and individual aspects of the strategic management process of science school administrators were at a high level. In descending order, namely, orientation of the organization, strategy formulation, SWOT analysis, control and evaluation of strategies and strategy implementation respectively; and 3) factors affecting the strategic management process science school administrators (Y) are innovation and educational technology (X5), leadership of administrators (X4), building of affective domain (X3), good governance and participation (X2), and human resource management (X1), with be adjusted performance prediction (adjusted R2) was 90.80%. The findings can be used to develop strategies for effective management of science school.
