Abstract
This research aims to (1) examine the service provision and support systems of the Quality of Life Development Center for the Elderly; and (2) evaluate the service quality of the center within Bueng Yitho Municipality, Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. Employing a qualitative research methodology, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 108 key informants and participant observations of 350 center members. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis based on the SERVQUAL service quality framework, with results presented through descriptive analysis.
The research findings are as follows: 1) Bueng Yitho Municipality has successfully integrated holistic elderly care through the mechanism of “Five Specialized Health Clinics” in collaboration with Day Care centers and modern Quality of Life Development Centers. Driven by multi-disciplinary teams and institutional networks, these centers provide rehabilitation, recreation, and vocational training tailored to individual needs in a systematic manner. 2) While the elderly reported high levels of satisfaction and sustained confidence in the care system, the research highlights structural constraints affecting accessibility. Significant barriers include transportation costs, safety concerns, and household economic limitations, which impede participation among certain groups of elderly residents. And the policy recommendations suggest that the municipality should accelerate the development of proactive care mechanisms integrated with Specialized Mobility Support. Addressing transportation barriers and reducing inequality in service access are essential for enhancing the quality of life for the elderly in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.
